Student Groups

Weekly Discussion Groups

Discussion groups (with the exception of oSTEM) are a part of the larger LGBTQ+ student organization, Pride Alliance. All groups meet in 2218 Marie Mount Hall (LGBT Equity Center) and are open to newcomers and respectful allies.

4pm • Disabled Queers:  For students who are differently abled, physically or mentally
5pm •  Male-Identified Queers (MIQ): For gay, bi+, trans, queer, asexual, etc male-identified students.
6pm • TransU: A safe space for students who identify as transgender or genderqueer, or who otherwise feel restricted by conventional definitions of "man" and "woman."

5pm • Bisexuals at Maryland (BAM): For students who identify as bisexual, pansexual, or any other non-monosexual identity
6pm • Ace Space: Centered on asexual and aromantic spectrum identities.

5pm • Women2Women (W2W): For women-identified LGBTQ+ people.

5pm •  Gay Games: A space for any LGBTQ+ identified students to play games, hang out, and relax.

7pm• Reading Rainbow: A queer literature group.

Graduate Students

Although all discussion groups are open to all students, we recognize that grad students sometimes feel out of place when groups are majority undergrad. If you are looking for a community, check out the bi-weekly community space for grad students Thursdays 12:30 - 1:30 in the LGBT Equity Center. The group will meet bi-weekly beginning March 8th, 2018. To keep up to date, join the Facebook group.
