The One Project: First-Year Programming

The One Project: First-Year Experience

The One Project features programming geared towards LGBTQ+ and allied students who are in their first year at UMD!

Pre-Semester Meetup  Sunday, August 26th, 3 - 4:30pm in 1100 Cambridge Community Center.

This is a great way to connect with staff and peers before the semester starts up. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. We just want to get to know you! Snacks will be provided.

Quelcome - Thursday, September 13th, 4pm - 6pm

Quelcome is a long-running program of the LGBT Equity Center, in collaboration with the office of Multicultural Involvement and Community Advocacy (MICA). It serves as the campus-wide kick off for LGBTQ+ students and is a great place to grab food, dance, and meet people. We look forward to seeing you at the welcome fest and resource fair.

Q Camp - Saturday October 13th (all day) and Sunday October 14th (until 11am)

Q Camp is an opportunity to build community in a more personal setting. Students stay overnight at a retreat center and engage in exercises that will touch on identity formation, wellness, and belonging. Come and build a supportive student community with us! Application forthcoming.

*Note that all these programs are also open to returning students, but largely draw new students.
