Champion of Our Community

In 1997, the organization now known as Prism: The LGBTQ+ Staff, Faculty, and Graduate Student Association initiated the Champion of Our Community award. It is given each year to a member of our group who has made distinguished contributions to the LGBTQ+ communities. It has been administered by the LGBT Equity Center since 1999.

The award contains the following quotation.

If you have knowledge, let others light their candles by it.
--Margaret Fuller
