Safe Space Discussion

Safe Space is a supportive discussion group for students to talk about lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, questioning, and asexual issues. Individuals representing the diverse gender and sexual orientation continuum are invited to participate in co-creating a brave space to discuss identity, coming out, transitioning, relationships, struggles, and victories; a space to decompress, share what's on your mind, and find support.

Now a collaborative effort with the Counseling Center, Safe Space is led by Dr. Carlton Green. The initial meetings are open to anyone wishing to particpate after which it will become a counseling group of the Counseling Center.

Rainbow Walk-In Hour

While classes are in session, LGBTQ students have access to free unscheduled time with a counselor during the Rainbow Walk-In Hour, Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Students must state that they are there for the Rainbow Walk-In Hour and they will be asked to complete several brief surveys prior to meeting with a counselor within an hour of arrival.
