Internships

We assist University of Maryland students who wish to work as an intern in an LGBTQ community organization. Whether you have a particular internship or organization in mind, or you are simply exploring possibilities, we will work with you and on your behalf to insure you have a rewarding experience as anintern in an LGBTQ community organization.

For students wishing to earn credit through the LGBT Studies Program as LGBT 386, you must have nine hours of prior course work in LGBT Studies including LGBT 200, LGBT 265 (also listed as ENGL 265), and one upper-division course that fulfills a requirement for the LGBT Certificate; and permission of the program in LGBT Studies. If you are seeking credit, you are strongly encouraged to contact Dr. Luke Jensen early in the process so that you can properly meet all the requirements in a time frame that works best for you.

Some of the organizations where students have earned credit include:

  • Equality Maryland
  • Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund
  • Human Rights Campaign
